VERY IMPORTANT NEWS…LETTER OF INTENT TO RETURN
The Letters of Intent for families ALREADY enrolled at Cornerstone were sent home with students’ Friday, January 7, 2011. The deadline for return is Monday, January 24, 2011. If you DID NOT receive one, please log onto the website under “Letter of Intent”.
· We are now accepting NEW applications for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year.
The deadline is March 31, 2011.

· The Pioneer Days Committee wants to invite the students of CORNERSTONE CHARTER ACADEMY to participate in two contests: (please see the website for the details)
ELEMENTARY 1 - 5 is a POSTER CONTEST. The winning poster will be printed in the Pioneer Days Magazine, a historical magazine printed exclusively for this year's event. Deadline: Jan. 21
MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL 6 - 12 is an ESSAY CONTEST. The winning essay will also be included in the magazine. Deadline: Jan. 21
LOWER SCHOOL
· Ticket to Read should be used EVERY night.
· 2nd and 5th grade will be FAIR testing next week.
· FCAT Writing – March 1-3 (Grades 4, 8, 10 only).
UPPER SCHOOL
· PSAT scores have been given to your 10th or 11th grader. Please ask for them. There is great information within the reports.
· Subject selection for the 2001-2012 school year is coming. Mr. Hummel will be coming to classes to discuss class choices for next year.

Volunteer Information
Letters will be sent home to families that have NOT started their community service hours. Please be reminded that 30 hours are required by each family. You may stop by the Crawford House to see how many hours your family has as of this date. Please remember…this is a REQUIREMENT of Cornerstone Charter Academy.
